Who We Reach
Judy Aitken, the director and founder of ASAP, began more than 30 years of service to Southeast Asians in 1979 in the refugee camps on the border of Thailand. It was there that she and her family ministered to Cambodian, Lao, Vietnamese and Hmong people. Over the years, as the ministry of ASAP grew, the Lord has opened many doors for service in these refugees' countries of origin.
The people of Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Myanmar have struggled under the oppression of communist and military governments for many years. Vietnam and Laos are still governed by communist leaders. Since communism seeks to repress religion, many under its rule are hungering for a knowledge of the true God. These countries, along with Thailand, are among the poorest in the world and are in need of much help.
