Kongsri Pathee asked the Lord, “How can I get Your truth into the hearts of the people in my community? Please open the doors, Lord!” Shortly after this prayer, God impressed her to ask the public school in Chiang Mai, Thailand, if she could help in any way. At first, when she attempted to distribute flyers, the teachers asked the students to throw them away. Later, she had the opportunity to volunteer in the kitchen and that opened up the opportunity to meet the special education teacher.  She invited Kongsri to assist her with the students and now she regularly teaches them songs and even witnesses to the children.  She shares stories from the Bible about creation, God, and how they can choose to use their hands, eyes, and mouth to serve God. The children have been very receptive to her classes and even the teachers seem to be interested since they see a change in the special ed students. Though Kongsri has faced many obstacles, she keeps a very positive, surrendered attitude. She keeps reaching out to everyone for God and it has reaped great eternal dividends.

The principal of the school is Mr. Sombat Chaiyaporn. He learned of Christianity from Kongsri and accepted Jesus as His Savior. He is strong in the faith and his daughters and nephew have also been baptized. His nephew is now studying at Asia Pacific Adventist University (in Thailand) and his daughters are currently in Norway. Sombat’s wife is also growing in the faith and her love for the Lord is deepening day by day. This well-known and respected family in the community have the potential to witness to many that Kongsri would not have been able to.

Though Kongsri Pathee is not a youth, she has a youthful heart and a burden for young people to accept the gospel. God helped her develop a thriving youth group in her church. She said that God answered her prayers for Chanyapa Kambuddha, a young lady who attends her youth group. Chanyapa had been attending the Chiang Mai Academy and wanted to be a Christian, but her grandmother was against it. There was a pastor that came from Singapore that spoke at the youth camp in Korat and while he spoke of the story of the lame man who was healed by Jesus, the young teen was filled by the Holy Spirit and accepted Jesus into her heart. She decided she wanted to be baptized. Kongsri Pathee has begun to study the Bible with her.

Kongsri asks that we pray for the members of the Goun Im Chinese Religious group. After she had the opportunity to share the gospel with them, three members of the group have been baptized. The wife of the group leader is very interested in the Adventist truth and she has her husband’s ear. Kongsri would love to see the whole group converted and baptized. She continues to talk with the leader and the members and to pray for them.  She says, “Whatever I do in my life, whether I drink or eat or whatever I do, I surrender everything to God; because I belong to him and He belongs to me. This is how I find victory in my life.”  Let us continue to uplift Kongsri, one of the faithful ASAP national missionaries working in Thailand, and her ministry as well as principal Sombat Chaiyaporn and his family. Please pray that the difficulties their neighbors face, such as the recent floods, will open their hearts to their loving Savior.
